Join us for an intimate conversation with House of Aama, the visionary mother-and-daughter design duo reshaping luxury through heritage and storytelling. As part of Hoodoo Heritage Month, this program explores cultural memory, style, and spirituality through Luisah Teish’s Jambalaya. Together, we’ll consider how ancestral traditions, family narratives, and contemporary Black creativity shape new pathways for spiritual connection and community.

House of Aama explores the folkways of the Black experience by designing timeless garments with nostalgic references informed by historical research, archival analysis, and storytelling. Aama expands the breadth of its work into various mediums of visual storytelling including film and installation practices. Weaving the intersection of fashion, art and history, they aim to evoke dialogue and social commentary around heritage, remembrance, and to shed light on nuanced histories.
