Long time collaborator Tameka Blackshir will lead a discussion around Giovanni’s latest book, Make Me Rain: Poems & Pros. Whether you have read the book, admire it, or simply want to celebrate the late and great poet’s legacy, we welcome you.

Tameka Blackshir is a dedicated member of the Los Angeles literary community. Hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Tameka has assisted in fostering strong literary communities throughout the city of LA as a bookseller for nearly a decade. She currently leads the LA based chapter of Well-Read Black Girl book club.
