Join Addy Zou, A+P’s former Gallery Guide, in an interactive tour of Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection. In this tour, Addy will provide insights into the found texts that artists have reappropriated in their works, paying special attention to the ways that language acts on bodies of women of color. Addy will walk participants through artworks that use sourced poems, fictional works, scientific studies, and more to convey new meanings. How are artists asking us to interact with texts in a way that may feel different from their original forms? What are some texts in your own life that you feel strongly about or that you find yourself questioning and returning to? There will be opportunities for discussion throughout the tour, as well as time set aside for individual writing and reflection. This walkthrough is the first of three examining materials found throughout the exhibition.
